While we've had a lovely view from this apartment up North in Thompson, I am looking forward to the eight hour drive South tomorrow and the comforts of home. It is hard keeping an adventurous two year old girl occupied in an rather empty apartment, but it makes no sense to furnish a place we are staying only once in a while over the next couple months (for Rob's work). At least we have some art supplies, books, movies, and our imaginations! There have been some highlights of this trip: wonderful friends tying the knot after 19 years in love, spending time with family, meeting a newborn cousin & enjoying a LOT of children's laughter, driving across a frozen lake to a relative's remote cabin for a fun & cozy night, and spotting a dogsled team running in the snow. But the bitter cold weather I could definitely do without.
Staying mostly indoors this winter (I would hibernate if I could!) has kept me creating, sewing, knitting.....my hands have been busy and I have a lot to show for it.
HUSAVIK, my handmade shop, will re-open this weekend stocked full of children's clothing, knits, fabric covered hair pins, adorable wool sweaters and even tinier hand knit clothing for Waldorf dolls.
I am very excited about this upload! Here is a small preview of what to expect:
Earth friendly re-purposed sweaters made from the softest natural fibers
with handmade tree branch buttons
Knit bonnets & cowls in super soft lambswool, alpaca & merino,
with organic hand dyed and handspun yarn
for Waldorf dolls: Reversible knit rainbow dresses
knit with natural wool & cotton yarn in many vibrant colors
Have a lovely week!
